Speed and day-to-day performance

IPVanish performs well where it matters most for most people: sustained throughput. Not peak lab numbers. Real, usable speed over time.

On nearby servers, speeds are consistently high, especially when using WireGuard. Connections are quick to establish, and once connected, they tend to stay stable. This matters more than headline Mbps numbers. A VPN that reconnects, stalls, or degrades under load is more frustrating than one that is simply a bit slower on paper.

Long-distance performance is more mixed. US and Western Europe generally perform well. Asia-Pacific and South America can be hit or miss depending on the specific server. This is not unusual, but it does mean IPVanish is not the best choice if your use case depends heavily on distant regions.
